Is there a test or an expert who can select the best major or career for you.

The Fact is...

The only test or expert on what is best for you is YOU. However, Assessments are excellent tools that can help identify your skills, interests, work values, motivations, and how your personality impacts your work style.

The Career Center administers the Strong Interest Inventory (SII) and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). The cost per assessment is $15.00 and is due on the day of your assessment review appointment with the Career Development Specialist.

There are also numerous FREE resources that students can use to self-assess.

Free Interest Assessments

• California Career Zone - Click on "Assess yourself" then select the "Interest Profile"

Instructions on Taking an Online Assessment offered by the Career Center

Step #1 – Meet with the Assistant Director of Career Development
• Meet with Elizabeth Zavala-Acevez, Assistant Director of Career Development to identify the appropriate assessment for your unique needs. (Brief 10-15 appointment)
• You may schedule an appointment or talk to the Career Development Specialist during assigned walk-in hours. To schedule an appointment or to inquire about walk-in hours please call (657) 278-3121.
Step#2- Take Online Assessment(s)
• The Assistant Director of Career Development will provide you with an online login code to take the online assessment
• If you already met with the Assistant Director of Career Development you may begin your assessment by clicking here
Step#3- Schedule Your Assessment Review Appointment
• Schedule your assessment review appointment with the Assistant Director of Career Development by calling (657) 278-3121
