| Film Showing of Shirin Neshat’s Turbulent (1998) |
|
Event Description Turbulent is a back-and-forth between two separate but simultaneously run scenes that follow a sullen and traditional ceremony of a group of women and a contemporary, boisterous group of men. For two years guest-curator and historian Elizabeth Little has been organizing this exhibit. She has lived in Cairo, Egypt and studied Middle Eastern history at the University of New Mexico. This timely exhibition grows in importance every day as Iran currently struggles with political turmoil. |
